Starlink Installation Newbury
Starlink is a satellite internet constellation provided and operated by Elon Musk’s SpaceX organisation. The Starlink system, once installed, provides high-speed, low-latency satellite-based broadband internet. It’s been available in the UK since January 2021 and we’ve been providing Starlink Installation in Newbury and Berkshire ever since.
Using advanced satellites in a low orbit, Starlink enables fast streaming, ideal for video calls, online gaming, and other high data rate activities. As a Starlink user you can expect to see download speeds of between 100 Mb/s and 200 Mb/s and latency as low as 20ms in most locations.
Due to this Starlink is ideally suited for rural areas and remote communities where internet connectivity is unreliable or, most commonly, completely unavailable. The majority of the Starlink Installations that we carry out are in rural parts of Hampshire, Berkshire and Wiltshire where the superfast cable or fibre broadband network has not been installed yet.
And look out for Starlink Business, which will have double the speeds of Starlink, coming at some point in 2023.
Starlink Installation
You will need to order your Starlink Equipment direct from the Starlink website (via www.starlink.com).
The price is around £460 for the standard system (correct as of Jan 2023). It will be sent with everything that’s needed to get online (router, cables etc…) so once you’ve received it we can proceed with the installation process.
A premium version of the Starlink system, the High Performing version, costs £2410 for the hardware. We can also install this version for you.
PLEASE NOTE – There will be a monthly fee of £75 for this service which you pay to Starlink to get online.
In order to operate effectively the Starlink Dish needs to have a clear ‘line of sight’ to the sky. There’s a Starlink App that can help in terms of positioning but as satellite and aerial installers with 20 years of experience we’ll ensure it’s in the right location for the best results!
Starlink operates at it’s best when the dish is installed above roof height. It also needs to be installed so the dish is fully secure. This ensures a reliable internet service operation.
Our experienced installers will install your Starlink Dish so it gives the clearest signal and is free from obstruction by trees or buildings. We offer a number of different methods of mounting the dish to ensure the best results. Every install starts with an inspection of the property to ensure we reach the best mounting solution for you.
A standard Starlink Installation should take no more than a couple of hours. And we ensure that your fast internet connection is fully operational before we leave so you can get online straight away!
